Buffy Breakwell is an experienced instrumental teacher and classroom practitioner, who has successfully tutored students through hundreds of music exams; pre-Grade 1 to Grade 8 and beyond in piano and woodwind. She has taught both in the UK and abroad.

As well as instrumental lessons, she has 25 years' experience in Music Education, having trained at the Universities of Sussex and Cambridge. She has taught piano to students throughout this time, as well as delivering curriculum music in both Primary and Secondary schools.

Buffy works with several examination boards including ABRSM and Trinity, but currently predominantly uses MTB exams to enter students into examinations. Click here to find out more about this exam board.

In addition to providing them with the creative enrichment, confidence, memory techniques and social skills that learning an instrument confers, she is happy to prepare her students for concert and festival performances, and offer opportunities several times a year to those at Huntington School (see HSM website for information on annual events such as Arts Festival and Live Lounge).
